Hi! I am Merlin. I am a tender old boy and am looking for a suitable retirement home. I am hoping I can find one soon! I am about 8-10 years old - I've lost track. If I were a Zodiac sign, I would be a Taurus. I have the cutest "little old man" voice, and I love to talk to my humans. I am very friendly and laid-back. My favourite toys are things I can kick! I don't like to run around lots chasing things, but give me a kicker toy and I will be a very happy boy. Before coming into foster care, I spent a lot of time outside on my own, and my ears and lips got frostbitten. I am feeling much better indoors, and have healed nicely. I am a BIG boy - even the vet commented that my paws and head are huge. The vet also loves me because I purr the whole time I am there. While I prefer long naps on my own, I also am a sucker for good head scratches and will gladly sit in your lap for shorter periods of time. I enjoy short trips outside on my leash too!
Recently, the humans discovered that I have Urinary Tract Disease. This means that lifelong, I will need to eat special wet and dry food made for kitties like me. I had a big flare-up of my UTD recently, but with the food change, I am A-Okay. My special food is readily available and I should have little to no issues for the rest of my life as long as I have my food! Because I'm a little older, I have to work a bit harder to jump up on the bed. While I can do stairs, I would rather be in a home where there aren't too many. My foster dad put something next to the bed as a step to get up easier, and I appreciated it. I am being fostered with a bunny and I enjoy her company.
