Bear

Bear Image

Reveived your letter in regards to Bear.  He is doing great!  When we got
him he was underweight, afraid to eat (he had been bullied by another dog)
and scared to go down into our basement.

Now is shows no signs of fear when eating or going into the basement, even
when he is beside our other dog, he has put on a few needed pounds and is
happy & healthy.  He is so affectionate,  we are lucky to have found such a
gentle, loving "Bear".

Tribble

Tribble Image

After the loss of our 17 year old Pommie a year ago we thought our hearts could
never be touched in the same way again. Tribble has proven us wrong.

Soon after she joined our family we drove south for the winter, and she has   become a real California girl, loving the sun and sand, and her two long walks a day. She is a little overprotective of us, and barks at anything coming our
way - people, dogs, cars, birds - but she's starting to learn that it's not always necessary.

Tribble was fairly subdued around the house at first. Now she has really blossomed. She takes inventory of her five little stuffed toys every morning and makes sure we get to tussle with each of them daily.

Soon we'll return to Edmonton, and probably some snow. It'll be interesting to see how we all adjust to that again. Meanwhile, we thank NASAP for Tribble. She has brought great joy into our lives and, more importantly, I think she feels the same.

Thanks again =

Bruno

Bruno Image

Hi,   Bruno is doing fantastic.  He has filled out and is 53 pounds now.  He has adjusted to all of us really well and has been a great addition to our family.  He loves his rawhide bones, and his 2 doggy beds and all the daily walks.  We are so looking forward to the spring and summer when he can go swimming in the river and ponds and run along our side on our family bike rides.  What a wonderful dog he is.            The Robinson Family

Aspen (now Wolfie)

Aspen (now Wolfie) Image

Hello there,  I received an e-mail from Mary Pascoe-Price inquiring how Aspen (now known as Wolfie), whom we adopted in September, is doing.  Well she is doing TERRIFIC!  She is a wonderful, smart and incredibly kind dog.  She is so great with our kids (and all people) it is just amazing!  She has gone from knowing no commands at all to learning sit, stay, wait, roll over, drop it, come, etc.....and much to our relief she didn't take long at all to figure out that dogs do their "business" outside, and not on the carpet!!  She is very smart, kind, and patient....even when the kids play with her for hours on end, and even when she is exhausted, she has never once nipped at them.  We have her in doggy daycare a couple of days a week just for her benefit as she loves to socialize with other dogs.  She loves car rides and knows the routine in the morning when we drop the kids off at school and pick them up at lunch....she hops right into the car and watches every kid that comes out of the school until she sees "her kids" and then she perks right up.  Wolfie (who got her name courtesy of my seven year old daughter) comes practically everywhere with us.  She has changed our lifestyle.  We are outside more, we are more active, we plan weekends so that she can come places with us, she has been a great addition to our family.  Thanks NASAP

Rocky

Rocky Image

Good afternoon Mary,

Rocky is doing very well.  He was such an eeyore soul when he first arrived in our home, but has since learned to play with toys, take long walks on the leash, and become a much-loved member of our family.  He was spine-showing thin when he arrived but has since gained some weight and loves to follow me around and lay close by me in my home office.  We feel truly lucky to have found such a gentle and eager to please pet.

Cheers

Chris Sklar and family

Tasha

Tasha Image

Hello Mary, Well, there’s no other way to put it…Tasha is absolutely wonderful and we could not be happier.  Our six year old son says a number of times every day…”We love Tasha so much and isn’t she just so cute…and we’re gonna keep her forever and ever”.  She has fit in wonderfully and is a true friend and family member.   We just could never say enough good about her….she is truly the dog we prayed for.  She has made wonderful animal friends as well…she is doing well with our two cats, and still often tries to get our two horses to play with her! J   She LOVES coming for rides in the truck too…in fact…the other day John was hooking the horse trailer up to the truck just to get it ready to go for the next day…Tasha jumped into the back seat and stayed there for a couple hours while John was out puttering.   She spends some time in the house (overnite and off and on during the day)…but otherwise she loves to guard her “deck” and go explore around the acreage.  We just found out that she’s even a good mouser!! J We feel overwhelmingly blessed to have found her, and cannot thank you enough!!! John, Tracy, Sara & EvanP.S.  We have attached a couple snaps J

Finnigan (Formerly Fips)

Finnigan (Formerly Fips) Image

Dear Nasap,

I wanted to send an update on Finnigan (Formerly 'Fips')
It's his one year adoption day anniversary this week and I'm still as blessed to have him part of my life than the day we brought him home from his foster home.
Finn continues to be a fantastic ambassador of rescue mutts. He has completed Sentry Dogs obedience classes, he accompanies me to work every day and spends his evenings curled in a big basket with his two best cat friends and his "big" brother Munkydog.
He fills my life, my house and my heart with love, comedy, and the best hugs. I am so fortunate to have him in my world and I have NASAP to thank for that!
Finn and I send the best thoughts into the universe that people spay and neuter and choose adoption over purchase until every dog, cat and little critter find their forever home too.
Thank you so much!!
Sincerely,
Lauren Johnston and Finnigan.

Rolo and Montoya (now Milo and Murphy)

Rolo and Montoya (now Milo and Murphy) Image

Milo and Murphy are, in a word, gorgeous - both physically and personality wise.   While Murphy has a black coat and blond nose, Milohas a blond body and black nose.  Both have a ring of black around their tails and a shock of light coloured fur on their tummies.
As for their personalities, I don't think there are sweeter dogs in existence (no bias there!).  Truly though, they are perfection:  sweet, loving, smart and just the most wonderful guys.  They've become great friends with the cats (especially Gus) and a hit at the offleash area.
Both the boys are microchipped.  They love teeth-brushing, nail clipping, and their rag baths.  Milo and Murphy listen very well to commands - they know how to sit, come, stay, lie down, follow closely, wait etc.   And of course they know "want a treat?"!!
Thank you again for allowing us the privilege of having these furry angels in our lives.
