Meet Alaric

In Memory

Alaric is a tiny warrior! He was found at the pound very unwell. Small, shut down, swollen belly, dirty, and sickly. NASAP brought him into care to make sure he got proper medical care.

He is nervous and skittish but slowly learning humans and animals are not harmful or hurtful. He still has a long way to go in foster care to get medical care and regain his health and confidence.

Alarics swollen belly and malnutrition was due to FIP. FIP is a viral illness that triggers a severe immune reaction that damages blood vessels and organs. And in his case the swelling in his belly was free fluid known as WET FIP. Unfortunately on June 21 this illness progressed very rapidly and Alaric was humanely Euthanized by Lakeside Vet with her foster family present.

He did not spend a long time in foster care but he was loved, warm and new comfort up until the end. Rest easy Alaric, till we meet at the rainbow bridge!
