Meet Max

Adopted

Max is brand new to NASAP when his family fell on hard times and were able to take care of him due to long work hours. He is a very sweet boy who thinks he is a cat. Max is an affectionate, very food driven boy.  He prefers people to other dogs so would do best as the only dog in the home where he can soak up all the attention. He loves sniffy walks and is used to a couple of kilometers every day, except when it’s particularly cold. He does not like the cold even with a coat on.

He is a great car traveler and settles in fairly quickly after looking out the window. He loves to play with the resident cat and loves to play fetch with his stuffies. He is definitely a lap dog, loves to cuddle.

Max, like most Shi Tzus, has feline tendencies. If he wants your attention he will rub up against your legs and will weave in and out of them. He also likes to lounge in high places like the backs of sofas, especially if it’s by a window.

Due to his strong food drive, he has been taught leave it when something is dropped. He is intelligent and learns quickly. He is pretty good on leash, he is still learning. He can be reactionary towards other dogs when on walks and is learning to ignore them. He is a confident little guy, and as stated, very affectionate with people.
