Meet Stella

Available For Adoption

Meet Stella!

She is the biggest couch cuddler there ever was! She loves pets and touch and being your shadow. She is very energetic and you would never guess her age! She loves her foster brother Bear who lets her win at tug of war, chases her around the house and loves to play rough and tumble. She would do well with another dog who can keep up with her rough play or she would do well on her own getting all the love and attention.

She is very powerful and strong; she is still learning how to loose leash walk. She is very smart and excitable so this will require continued training because when she wants to go somewhere, you ARE going that way haha We are working on her recall, she does have a history of running and she is very fast when she wants to be, but she is learning trust and recall. She loves when someone calls for her. She is food motivated but she is a lady with refined taste and will not accept every treat offered, her favourites are dehydrated livers, tomatoes, peppers, and soft snacks. She is not a picky eater but not super food motivated, I think she knows the good life is here and seeing what she can hold out for 🙂

She loves adventures, car rides, walks, playing in the yard, sleeping in your bed – just generally being with people! She gets VERY excited leaving the house. If she has access to a front window she will spend her day window watching and barking/greeting at the people and dogs who walk by. She gets very excited hearing or seeing other dogs and animals around her which is why we are working on impulse control training and keeping a safe distance from other dogs while on leash. She needs a family who can work on training and has the ability to leash walk her or take her to private off leash parks. She would not be appropriate for the regular off-leash parks. Luckily she does not require a lot of physical exercise and her favourite place is with YOU or on a heated blanket!

She came to us from a partner pound after 16 MONTHS being impounded – July 4, 2023, to November 4, 2024! We are still flabbergasted that she is so well behaved, house trained and well adjusted after all that time. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and just had dental surgery to remove 2 broken teeth on January 22, 2025. These broken teeth were most likely from before she was impounded, from chewing on chain link or rocks. She had her right canine and back right molar removed.

She is happy and healthy and would love to meet you!
