Inquire about adopting me

Meet Teddy!

Teddy has been in foster care since April of 2023! During his year in foster care we have made some major medical care and training milestones.

Teddy came to us a scared, timid and very sick boy. He had major eye infections in both eyes and his previous owners were at a loss and frustrated with how to care for him. He would shut down with touch and never wanted to be around people. He was even timid with accepting food.

Luckily we found an amazing foster home who was patient and kind and doting on him! Our amazing partner vet Brintnell quickly found multiple treatments for him. In July he went for a full sedation and had his face shaved and we found severe burns to his face due to the discharge and matting of fur. His wounds were thoroughly cleaned. And he got antibiotics and special cleaner to help his skin heal. But we quickly realized that his eyes were not the cause of infections, it was his TEETH!!

Teddy had rotting teeth into his gums. In august of 2023, he went back to the vet for an extensive dental surgery - it took 2 vets, over 6 hours! He had 25 teeth removed! His road to recovery was long and extensive but his amazing foster family did everything they could to make him comfortable.

On top of these major surgeries, his anxiety was through the roof. He would scream when his face was cleaned or when he was touched! He would go completely stiff when he had a leash attached to him. He would run under the bed and hid from people and he needed daily face washing! Luckily his foster home worked with an amazing trainer and got more knowledge on how to help Teddy AND Teddy was introduced to a friend - ZOE! Zoe brought out a side of Teddy we dreamed about. She showed him confidence and patience and together Teddy brightened and learnt to trust his foster home. To keep this going we started Teddy on anxiety medications. He is amazing at taking them gabapentin and anafranil. He loves the pill pockets and treats he gets!

Teddy is finally ready to meet new people and find his Furever home! He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and stable in his health! He will need a loving home who will keep his medications and confidence, who will keep him healthy in his golden years!

Teddy turns 10 years old this month!!!
